HOMECOMINGS FINANCIAL complaint by Trt
I too have experienced Homecomings Financial's dirty little tricks. I have made automated phone payments during business hours only to find it was not credited to my account until, coincidentally, it was beyond 30 days late. Also, my interest rate is now over 10% and I have tried to to get them to renegotiate my loan so that my children and I won't be homeless and they can continue to collect exorbitant interest rates! No can do they said.... they cannot do that...... I told them they can make the interest as low as they want since they have the loan (which was purchased from another lender).

Their latest affront is to inform me that they are increasing my payment by $200 due to an "insurance disbursement". When I asked them what that means they transferred me to another department which happened to be closed! By the way, I made it very clear that I still have the very same homeowner's policy I have had the entire 26 months they've been "servicing" my loan. Is there anything that can be done about these "loan sharks"?

Stephen et al - when you sign your loan documents you are made aware of the payment due date (typically the 1st of the month). You sign those documents accepting responsiblity for the debt and ensuring it is made in a timely fashion. If you wait until the last minute that is your responsiblity.

It is time people start taking resposiblity for thier own actions and irresponsibilty. You can't blame everyone else all of the time!

We need help also in finding a way to fight Homecomings. You are speaking of the same tactics used against us. The insurance bit, the added interest, no explanation as to why anything happens. The information on our account on-line, which is what we go by, is not what they say later. In other words, everything is mis-represented by Homecomings. No wonder they have huge offices, financed by all the consumers they screw. You can talk to 5 different people and get 5 different stories about your account.

HC is shady. They send me my statement each month 4 days before it is due. Then when i go to pay it online and make the payment date a reasonable amount of time in the future, say 3 business days, they hold onto it until after the due date and charged me a fee. I'm trying to get a different mort. company to buy it.
